Required entry information differs for the event in which you wish to enter.
For the elite wheelchair marathon, athletes must register as part of a sports organization. Please refer to the Entry Information for more details.
*Entry Information for the elite wheelchair marathon will be announced on August 1, 2026 and the entry will be from early-December, 2026.
For wheelchair marathon(general), participants don’t need to register with any sports organization. Please follow the same schedule as general runners for entry.

In the case of disqualification due to a violation of the rules or cancellation of participation for personal reasons, under no circumstances will the entry fee (including donations) be refunded, nor will any rights be transferred to future events or preferential treatment be provided.
However, if a runner wishes to withdraw from the race due to pregnancy or childbirth after the entry fee has been paid, the entry rights may be transferred only if the runner agrees to the terms and conditions for such a transfer.

Substitute runners are not permitted. Any participant running under a false name will be disqualified.

A.Yes. Starting with Tokyo Marathon 2025, we have added a "non-binary" in addition to "male" and "female" .
Q.Can I choose "non-binary" for all divisions?
A.No. You can choose "Non-binary" in the general division only.
Q.Why isn't there a "non-binary" category for Elite, Wheelchair Elite and Semi-Elite?
A.Currently, the competition rules set by World Athletics (WA), the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), and World Para Athletics (WPA) do not include a "non-binary" category. Therefore, we only have "men" and "women" categories for Elite, Wheelchair Elite, and Semi-Elite competitions. We recognize the importance of inclusivity and will continue to monitor changes in international guidelines and policies.
Q.Does the choice of gender affect the drawing?
A.No
Q.How do you put participants name on the participants list in the official program?
A.We put participants name by categories ("male," "female," and "non-binary").
*If you are registered with the JAAF and choose "non-binary" for entry, the gender registered with JAAF will be used in the Official Program.
Q.How are records and finishing places ranked?
A.Records and finishing places are ranked by "male," "female," and "non-binary" respectively in addition to overall rankings for all participants.
Q.Do you have award for "non-binary"?
A.No. The Tokyo Marathon is conducted according to the competition rules of World Athletics (WA), the Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), and World Para Athletics (WPA). Awards for top finishers will be given in the 'male' and 'female' divisions.
Q.Is there a prize?
A.No. A prize for the top finishers are only given to "men" and "women". Because the Tokyo Marathon is followed by the competition rules of the World Athletics (WA), Japan Association of Athletics Federations (JAAF), and World Para-Athletics (WPA).
Q.Is there a distinction between "men's", "women's", and "non-binary" by athlete bibs?
A.Only the Elite and Wheelchair Elite bibs distinguish between "Men" and "Women".
Q.Will there be changing rooms for non-binary?
A.We will have "changing rooms for everyone" that can be used regardless of gender.
No, entry via phone, application form, or feature phone is not possible. We apologize for the inconvenience, but we kindly request that you make your entry using a computer or smartphone.
You can request to register a guide runner upon entry. Those who have requested a guide runner will receive further information after their entry is confirmed. Please note that guide or support animals are not allowed.

Duo Team is a team of two runners. One pushes a buggy that is safely customized for the runner who is unable to walk due to a permanent physical disability.
